The book focuses on a girl named Wild who has lost her brother to a mysterious invitation to the Shadowspell Academy, a magical academy that Wild doesn’t believe she exists.
The Shadowspell Academy starts with The Culling Trials. However, the two clash at first as Alexis has a desire to stay off the grid to keep her two wards safe. Her power fits his needs to contact his recently deceased mother. Alexis doesn’t know much about her magical powers, but Kieran is able to see just how powerful she is from the get-go. A chance encounter brings the two together and sparks begin to fly. She is poor and unlucky, but she has the ability to talk to spirits who haven’t yet passed on to the next world. The book follows Kieran, a sinfully sexy demigod, who is at the peak of his powers as he meets up with Alexis. Sin & Chocolate is the first book in the Demigods of San Francisco series.
